22nd May 2014 - Practice.

Greetings dear child. Practice makes perfect – this is a known truth. Next time you hold a pen, look at the ease with which it glides across the paper, smoothly flowing with little expenditure of energy and movement. All learned practices are performed with the same ease, fluidity and conservation of energy, once an action has been learned and mastered it becomes instinctive and a natural response.  This is true in all areas of one’s life, including meditation and contemplation. Once the practice has been mastered it is easy to perform the task. Human beings are indeed creatures of habit, enjoying their ritualistic approach to life which is not a bad thing, unless of course the rituals become deep grooves from which there appears to be no escape. Deeply ingrained rituals/habits are the enemy of growth and change which are both necessary elements of movement forward. Look at the rituals/habits that have become so much a part of the self – are there any which one has outgrown and need to be discarded. Now is the time to take stock – look closely at the self, be loving and truthful, discard that from which there is no productive outcome – spring clean and make room for new uplifting rituals/programmes to help ones movement forward. Blessings. PAX. ©.
